Program Notes: When I wrote this text in August 2019, it was a sad poem to write. I was having a hard time accepting this word: “Forgiveness.” As if it was something I didn’t want to deal with. The text became a soothing acknowledgment that helped me to find more peace, as now the piece does.

I might not have the answer to all the situations in my life —many of them I don’t even control. But I learned that what is most important than the answer is honesty and expressing my feelings.

Here is a vulnerable piece that tells a journey of how I am learning to forgive and to love, myself and others, every day.

This piece was commissioned by Panoramic Voices, Brent Baldwin Conductor, and I dedicate it to Brent Baldwin, and Liz Cass.
