Program Notes: Espejo is a composition for mix choir (divisi), string orchestra and harp. Nature has always been a part of my life and my compositional voice. In this particular case, I wanted to musically draw what the Venezuelan poetess Zulay Sanabria had perfectly described in her poem of the same title (Mirror). As I read the poem I could feel that she was talking to the earth, to the water, to the openness. She creates in her writing a place with no barriers, no walls. A place free of abysses that leads us to travel deeper using our imagination.
