Program Notes: I recently started back voice lessons with Liz Cass, an amazing singer and friend here in Austin, and she reminded me how studying your voice is as much artistry as it is therapy. In our lessons, we talk a lot about trusting our voice, trusting ourselves. To be honest, that is a challenge some days, but she is there to remind me that I can soar like bird. She helps me see that we can fly high, laugh, and enjoy.
This is what I strive to do for others as well:

I want to remind them (and myself!) that we can go far together, encouraging each other to be the kindest, most loving version of our little inner birds. Even though the last part of the poem did not make it into the piece, I wanted to share with you the entire message.

Podemos ser libres y ayudarnos a volar juntos. We can be free and help each other fly together.
